Microsoft Teams
Samaya can set your Teams status while you focus on a task, sit in a calendar event or work through a time-blocked task. What you are working on stays hidden unless the task is in a public Work channel.
Account and sign-in
Samaya sets your status through an Outlook account connected in Settings → Calendars; see Outlook calendars. Choose it as Account in Settings → Teams. With Off chosen, Samaya leaves your status alone.
A work or school account is needed. Personal Microsoft accounts have no Teams status.
An account connected before Teams was supported needs re-authorizing once, to grant
Presence.ReadWrite. Use Reconnect in Settings → Teams, its card in Settings → Calendars, orsamaya sync reauth. Until then Settings → Teams says Teams refused.
What Teams shows
Each situation sets an availability, or leaves it unchanged, and a status message, or none. Availability is one of Don't change, Available, Busy, Do not disturb, Be right back or Away.
| Setting | Default |
| While focusing | Do not disturb, "Focusing on a task" |
| During an event | Don't change, no message |
| During a time block | Busy, no message |
Focus comes first, then an event, then a time block. One left entirely unchanged gives way to the next. Teams already shows In a meeting for Outlook events, which is why events change nothing by default. Declined and cancelled events don't count.
When nothing applies any more, Samaya clears the availability and message it set, and only those. If Samaya quits, Teams clears them on its own.
Task names and privacy
With Show the task's name on, focusing shows "Focusing on: /task/", but only for a task in a public Work channel. Every channel is Personal and private until changed in Settings → Channels. Personal channels are always private, and making a Work channel public asks first. See Org files → Channel keywords.
